Diane was born in Sacramento on October 9, 1956 and passed away unexpectedly June 27, 2017. A lifelong resident of Sacramento, Diane was preceded in death by parents Henry and Rosie Tomoda. She is survived by her sister Linda (Henny)Toy and numerous relatives and friends. Diane was active in the political world having previously worked for the late Congressman Robert Matsui and former Governor Gray Davis. In 1988, she served as a delegate for Jessie Jackson at the Democratic National Convention. A past president of the JACL, she was also instrumental in the passage of HR 442, the Civil Liberties Act which resulted in redress for the internment of Japanese-American citizens during WWII. She will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at 1 pm July 22 at the Sacramento Buddhist Church, 2401 Riverside Blvd. Casual attire.
